Fine tale and well told

Comments:

Ms. Davidson has created the most exciting chef detective you will ever enjoy sharing a mystery with. Goldy Schulz of Aspen Meadow, Colorado has struggled but finally has managed to get her catering business running really well. In this tale we join Goldy as she deals with a real “Bridezilla”. This wealthy spoiled young woman has latched onto a young doctor and is planning an extravagant wedding. But, she is giving Goldy a bleeding ulcer with all of the changes to food, venue, decorations, etc. The bride’s rich mother gladly amends the contract to pay more but money is not the only problem for Goldy. Some of the new demands are very difficult or impossible to fill.

On top of all the problems with this high flying wedding, Goldy’s godfather and his friend the retired doctor Finn are both murdered. The two of them were looking into some suspicious shenanigans at a local health spa. Though they were murdered at different times the two deaths tie together. Goldy and her husband Sgt. Shulz of the local Aspen Sheriff’s department believe they are connected and it looks like they were killed because they discovered something that someone does not want known.

Goldy goes under cover replacing the Spa’s chef who agrees to fake appendicitis. As always Goldy puts together fabulous meals that impress everyone. She takes time between meal preparations to look around, gets knocked over the head and drugged and almost drowned but she finally catches the crooked killers.

Another fine tale of the dynamo chef comes to a satisfying conclusion leaving us constant readers wanting more. I give ‘Fatally Flaky’ a 7 of 10 on the Weaver meter.

Enjoy, Sid
